DIY Website not working out?

So, you’re knee deep in DIY website design and something feels… off. The spacing is too small (or too big!) the font seems erratic, and well, let’s not talk about the vibe.

Stop. Don’t panic.

I know what you’re thinking “I picked the wrong website builder!”

No way, friend.

What’s next

Don’t you dare scrap the whole thing and start over. You see, any website builder takes time to learn, to finesse, and to get comfy cozy with. If things aren’t vibing, starting over is not always the answer.

We tend to blame the tech often, but I have to admit, even though I do have a preference (*cough* squarespace *cough*) most website builders have their merits.

The key is learning how to work with their quirks.

Squarespace quirks

Squarespace, for example, has a few things I’ve learned to work around. Like how image blocks automatically take up the whole width of the block. Like what?!! Why can’t I adjust that?

Or how transparent banner image .png files turn black. EEK.

Learning these quirks come with time, and having a really great resource to take a look at when you feel a little… stuck.
